You're deep into a chapter, the story is finally moving, and then you hit a word you don't know. Until now, that meant stopping, copying the word, opening a translator in another tab, and finding your place again. Do that a few times per page and reading in another language starts to feel like homework.

So we brought the translator into the book.

Tap a Word, Get the Translation

In the Bookize reader, tap any word in your EPUB book and its translation appears right next to it, along with a short set of meanings and example sentences. You stay on the same page, in the same paragraph, with the same train of thought.

Need more than one word? Select a phrase or a whole sentence and translate it the same way. Idioms and tricky constructions make much more sense when you see them translated as a whole.

It works the same on a laptop and on your phone.

Build Your Own Vocabulary as You Read

Some words you look up once and forget. Others keep coming back, and those are the ones worth keeping.

When a word is worth remembering, save it to your personal vocabulary with one tap. Bookize keeps it together with the sentence you found it in, because a word is much easier to remember in the context where you first met it.

Your vocabulary is the first step. Tools to review and practice your saved words are coming soon, so every word you save now will be ready for you.

Search Inside the Book

We also added full-text search to the reader. Looking for the first time a character appeared, or a quote you half remember? Type a few letters and the matches show up as the search goes through the book, highlighted right on the page. Click any result to jump straight to it.

Search runs entirely on your device, so it keeps working even when your connection doesn't.

Free and Premium

Tap-to-translate is available to everyone, with a daily limit on the free plan. Sign in to save words to your vocabulary. If you read a lot in another language, Bookize Premium removes the daily limit.

Looking things up was never the hard part of reading in another language. Losing your flow was. Now the translation comes to you, and the story doesn't have to stop.

Open a book in the Bookize reader and tap the first word you don't know.
